Tutoring, nutrition and life skills
Our After-School Support Programs provide attentive and hands-on school support and nutritional assistance to help young students excel. Education is one of the best opportunities children have to climb out of poverty, but many factors pressure children to drop out before attaining a high enough education to be effective.
Government schooling is often poorly resourced and fails to truly help children learn and grow. Families may pressure their children to work and provide form an early age. Young girls are pressured to get married young as a way to "protect them" and have them off the family expenses, which, unfortunately, also traps them in poverty.
Through after-school programs, we connect children with attentive educators who not only help them grow academically but as people of character, paving the way for a more promising future. We provide a morning and afternoon meal on school days for all the children who attend, as this is nutrition they many not otherwise have but need in order to properly learn, as well as helping the families who may otherwise feel the need to employ their children to provide for their needs.
